Role Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, support, and supervision to the AP and AR teams, ensuring clear priorities and efficient task distribution.
- Manage team performance, encourage professional growth, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the execution of daily tasks to meet deadlines and comply with requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier ledgers across all entities, conducting regular reconciliations and issuing supplier statements.
- Review and approve prepared documents in the accounting systems to ensure a high level of accuracy.
- Develop and implement processes for timely payment of supplier invoices, including urgent payment requests when necessary.
- Drive effective credit control and aging debt management through consistent reporting and collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
- Supervise the reconciliation of cash received from various sources, such as AMEX, Elavon, and stripe, as well as deposits.
- Address and resolve escalated queries and issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and maintain best practice policies and procedures to streamline AP and AR operations.
- Drive efficiencies, improve processes, and facilitate change management within the AP and AR functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and reporting.
Desired Skills:
- Previous experience in an FMCG, retail, or hospitality multi-company environment.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts, systems, and processes.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
- Proficiency in MS Office and advanced Excel skills; experience with Sage Line 200 is advantageous.
- Approachable and co-operative attitude, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, pressured environment.
- 2 or more years of experience in a managerial role leading AR and AP teams.
- Proven track record of achieving operational efficiencies, process improvements, and successful change management.
