Consumer Additions have been fully retained by a listed pub/brewery business based in Kent to find a Group Financial Controller.
The business is profitable, with a strong balance sheet and revenues across their pubs and beer sales.
Reporting into the CFO, the role is responsible for all internal and external reporting as well as Group FP&A consolidation/central costs. The successful candidate will be technically strong, with team management experience.
The business is open to flexible working with 1-2 days per week from home possible.
The role:
- The Group Financial Controller is a key role within the business acting as the leader of the central finance team.
- From an internal perspective, this role will interact regularly with the Senior Management team across the business and have a close relationship with the Head of Commercial Finance.
- Externally this role needs strong relationships with the company auditors, bankers and advisors.
- Lead all financial reporting both internal and external within the business including Board Reports, Annual Report, trading RNS announcements and investor presentations
- Lead all group financial planning within the business to include the long term strategic plan and the annual budgeting process
- Support chair persons of the Remuneration Committee and Audit Committee with reports and supporting information as required
- Coordinate and ensure the accuracy of all payments out of the company including payroll through our outsourced payroll partner
- Responsibility for all regulatory and government returns
- Act as the technical accounting expert within the business providing advice on technical and accounting consequences of business initiatives
- Lead and develop a team of 12
- Support the CFO in ad hoc project work as required
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified accountant (or overseas equivalent)
- Technically strong accountant with experience of IFRS and FRS102
- Proven team leadership skills with a flexible approach to reflect a diverse team
- Gravitas to deal with senior Exec Team
- Strong financial reporting and FP&A experience
- Knowledge of Tax and payroll would be an advantage
- Multisite experience a benefit but not a pre requisite.
